The purpose of this role is to act as the bridge between finance and IT, reporting to our Operations Finance Director and working with the Head of IT. You will help the IT department to deliver its financial goals including setting budgets, forecasting and project reporting. The role requires collaboration with multiple departments (e.g. Finance, IT, HR, Procurement) so that you can deliver world-class financial insight while meeting tight deadlines. This role would be ideal for a newly or recently qualified accountant looking to take the next step on their Finance Business Partner career.
Responsibilities
Business Partner for IT within the Corporate Division:
1. Simplify finance processes and build new reports to ensure that the Head of IT and Operations Finance Director have quality insightful data and analysis in a timely manner.
2. Work with the Head of IT, Head of Transformation, Procurement and HR Business Partner to drive business performance to help deliver forecast/budget and wider strategic plan.
Monthly reporting packs:
1. Produce and review monthly reporting including monthly forecasts.
2. P&L reviews with FD.
3. Balanced Scorecard.
4. Monthly Budget Holder performance reviews, i.e. cost centre reviews.
Lead & carry out monthly Forecasting and annual budgeting:
1. Liaise with India and IT to enhance models to Operations Finance Director/Head of IT specification.
2. Enable monthly reviews with cost centre/functional cost owners to review actuals and to forecast cost requirements.
Projects:
1. Support with IT business case preparation and capitalisation decisions.
2. Produce IT project reporting to review project performance.
Experience
1. Qualified accountant.
2. Competent/strong in Excel.
3. Good organisational skills and a focus on timely deliverables.
4. Highly numerate with attention to detail and able to convey complex problems in a way that people can understand and act upon.
5. Be a positive and enthusiastic influence playing a big role in driving the business on to achieve its goals.
6. An understanding of IAS 38.
7. Experience of working in costs management preferably with IT or related experience from practice.
8. Power BI experience desirable.
Communication skills: able to clearly and effectively communicate with colleagues, clients and stakeholders. Demonstrates good listening skills and adjusts communication style to suit the audience.

Resilience: We don’t expect you to have everything on this job spec but we want you to be driven to learn new things, experiment and sometimes fail but you need to dust yourself off and be willing to try again.
