Job Description:
We are St Helens Borough Council
Located in the heart of the Northwest close to Liverpool, Manchester and Lancashire, St Helens is a modernising Council which is passionate and ambitious for the children and families we support, our communities and our workforce. As part of our transformation journey, we continue to build on our progress and put children firmly at the centre of our care. We can only do this because of our highly valued, skilled, and supported workforce.
We are looking to recruit a proactive and experienced Markets Assistant with excellent attention to detail to join our dedicated Markets Team. The postholder will have a key role in providing support to enable the delivery of our services to the residents, market traders, and businesses of St. Helens.
The post holder will have the ability to multitask, good verbal and written communication skills with colleagues, the public, market traders and other businesses, good ICT skills, and have the ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information. They will also be able to work flexibly, and as part of a team, providing an organised and systematic approach to working.
Whether you are seeking to embark on a new career path within Markets or within a Local Authority, or you are an experienced individual who is looking for a challenge then we would love to hear from you.
Please note we reserve the right to close the advert early should we receive a sufficient number of applications and encourage you to apply early, to avoid disappointment.
St Helens Council is a Disability Confident Leader. This means that the Council guarantees an interview to disabled applicants who demonstrate that they meet the essential criteria for the job, as detailed on the Person Specification, and will, for qualifying disabled candidates, make reasonable adjustments within the interview/selection process.
Equality & Diversity
St Helens Borough Council respects and values the individuality that every employee brings. We encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds, who share our values, our commitment to inclusion, and who will help us on our journey to transform our organisation.
