Central Sales Manager
Salary: circa £50,000 dependant on skills and experience

Reporting to the Head of Fleet Development, the Central Sales Manager (CSM) is responsible for delivering the SME fleet sales target through a team of telephone-based sales professionals. This role is pivotal in expanding our presence in the SME sector (up to 75 vehicles) while continuing to leverage our retail network and maximizing opportunities within the wider fleet market.
Our Central Sales Manager will be responsible for a team of 7 direct reports, driving new business acquisition, increasing customer retention and improving lead conversion rates.
The successful candidate will be experienced in implementing strategic sales initiatives to maximise market penetration and achieve commercial targets.
What you will be responsible for…
* Lead, train, develop and motivate a large team to exceed sales targets
* Conduct regular team and 121 performance review meetings and support colleagues through various coaching methods.
* Ensure a structured sales approach that focuses on pipeline management, customer engagement, and conversion efficiency.
* Develop and implement strategies to increase SME fleet sales beyond the existing retail network partnerships.
* Support sales executives in converting inbound and outbound leads, ensuring maximum opportunity capture.
* Identify and execute cross-sell and upsell opportunities
* Work closely with Contract Hire & Leasing Managers across VW Group brands to maintain competitive pricing and offers.
* Take ownership of customer service delivery, ensuring prompt query resolution and maintaining high satisfaction levels.
* Act as the escalation point for key sales prospects and customer concerns.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of:
* People Management and effective motivation of a team
* Experience of CRM system management, specifically Salesforce
* A sound knowledge of Fleet and VWFS products and VWG Brands
* Drive and tenacity to achieve targets and results.
* High level of interpersonal and communication skills with a proven track record of delivering great customer service.
* Strong organisation skills, delivering outputs to deadlines.
* Confident, articulate, numerical with the ability to analyse and present data in order to achieve sales targets and highlight future opportunities.
* Pro-active approach to maintain and generate new opportunities.
