About the role In this exciting role you will manage the in-house development and BIM teams within Dandara Living and report directly to the CEO. The role involves the management of projects from land acquisition through to planning approval (RIBA 1-3), with support required to other areas of the business, as necessary. The role also requires strategic input, liaising with other department heads and the CEO directly to support the growth of the business and improve efficiency and process. This role can either be based in our London office in Soho or our Altrincham office so you will see two adverts for the one role. What you will do Oversight of development management from RIBA stages 0-3, regularly checking and reporting on project KPIs at both departmental and board level Provision of support, as required, to the delivery team during RIBA stages 3-6 Organisation and provision of support to investment team on bids Staff resource planning Overall management of 4 development staff and 2 BIM staff Assisting internal teams with asset disposal Innovation of ideas and processes to support the department and wider business Management of, or assistance with key business strategies such as; IT, business product, inter-departmental process mapping, consultant selection and management plus other targeted business strategies (e.g. Building Safety Act, accounting/finance, CDE, development/project briefs, Health and Safety) Obtain and review regular build cost and development programme updates and support investment team with regular scheme appraisal updates Utilisation of network to identify new site opportunities for appraisal Management of departmental strategy and growth to align with business KPIs Understanding and management of in-house BIM team, coordinating departmental strategy and exploring innovative methods to improve outputs with the team Close liaison with commercial and finance functions to keep projects on budget, forecasting cashflows and reporting on any anomalies or anticipated risks Responsibility for ensuring invoicing within the team is monitored and payments are made in good time Supporting our internal ESG team Responsibility for consultant scopes and design responsibility matrices, ensuring all appointments have the correct information within them to deliver services to the requisite quality Regular communication with delivery and operational teams to integrate end-to-end process Troubleshooting and resolving strategic issues for the department What you will have Prior experience of managing a team with differing levels of experience Knowledge and understanding of BIM and EIRs is preferable Previous experience of board-level reporting and requirements Robust knowledge of the NPPF, building regulations, CDM 2015 and the Building Safety Act Demonstrable experience of acquiring and delivering planning consents on large, high-value residential and student accommodation developments of 300 units Knowledge of financial appraisals and associated mechanics Degree or masters in a related construction or design field Ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, both internally and externally Demonstrable multi-project management experience A collaborative leadership style, embracing and empowering teams to perform and fostering transparency between teams within the business Ability and drive to work in a fast-pace and agile working environment, where every day is different and priorities can quickly shift Ability to work and travel across the UK, as required, to provide to relevant services What we will offer you: Dandara is a market-leading developer in the living sector, delivering Build-to-Rent, Single Family Housing, and Purpose-Built Student Accommodation.
