Purpose:
Working for the Logistics Supervisor, the role function is to manage the receiving efficiently, safely, store, maintain, and issue materials for Transformer manufacturing at TST.
Primary Scope:
1. Manage the off-loading of vehicles from the off-site storage warehouse.
2. Manage the delivery of received kits to their required point of use.
3. Manage the collection of empty kitting trollies from around the factory.
4. Manage the backload return of vehicles to the off-site storage warehouse.
5. Manage the issuing both physically and through SAP of all consignment stock, including tapping cable.
6. Manage on-site waste streams.
Scope:
1. Loading and unloading goods from vehicles.
2. Moving materials packed on pallets or in crates around the Lichfield Road site.
3. Storing materials in the correct storage zones, following stock control instructions.
4. Comply with GE LSP.
5. Performing daily equipment checks, for example, recharging the truck's battery, etc.
6. Helping to load and unload trucks by hand where necessary.
7. Kitting of materials & components to ensure they are delivered to the right area at the right time in line with the MPS.
8. Input data accurately remotely or directly into SAP to ensure the company's material handling system remains up to date.
9. Make recommendations to improve and develop the materials operations.
10. Maintain accurate records & documentation for storage.
11. Preservation of materials & components under the direct control of the warehouse (internally & externally).
12. Support the maintenance of logistics equipment through preventative measures.
13. Support business Continuous Improvement initiatives when requested.
14. Comply with all business policies and procedures that may affect Quality, Health, Safety Environment.
15. Undertake routine cycle counting, stock takes, and investigating discrepancies.
16. Any other reasonable duties within individuals' capabilities.
Responsibilities:
Material delivery forms a key part of the successful building of transformers on time. The liquidated damages associated with late delivery can run into 100,000's of pounds, hence the importance of ensuring materials are delivered on time without damage, deterioration, or loss.
Duties:
1. Operate FLT's, Cranes.
2. Internal material movement.
3. Maintain storage areas.
4. Maintain SAP materials data.
5. Kitting of Materials ready for Manufacturing.
Skill Set:
1. SAP.
2. FLT.
3. Overhead Crane.
4. Organizational skills.
