This is an exciting opportunity within an established but expanding area of our business, this position will play a pivotal role supporting the Black Country residents and employers. Reporting to the Director of Core Skills, you will be responsible for identifying and developing strategic business relationships with National and local employers, creating opportunities for young adults within the local market. You will identify and create sustainable partnerships that contribute to the business’ overall growth strategy, you will build and sustain professional and effective relationships both at an operational and strategic level allowing you to build a pipeline of employers and target list to achieve key performance indicators and the ambitious expansion plans for the business division. You will be responsible for effectively managing your diary to engage with, educate and secure meaningful employment opportunities for young adults residing within the Black Country within specified sectors along with offering our learners vital support to sustain secured employment. The Employment Engagement Manager will work closely with the Commercial team to understand the LLM and future growth plans/opportunities within the region and ensure that all partners are kept up to date with SCL’s process against our strategic vision and targets. Key Responsibilities: • Building effective and positive relationships with employers, working collaboratively, and challenging them to identify and overcome any potential barriers preventing them from offering apprenticeships to young adults • To educate and deliver employability focused sessions to our learners • Partnering with the employer to create/co-design an engaging, innovative, meaningful pre-employment course to be able to provide work ready applicants to the employer • To support the employer to identify appropriate career opportunities, apprenticeships to support the employer’s people and recruitment agenda • Providing job search support, guiding participants to register on appropriate job boards and ensuring their digital profiles are up to date and visible to employers • Ensuring that participants have an up to date and professional CV and, supporting statement and covering letter, tailored appropriately for each application • Be involved with the development and play and integral part to execute our employer engagement strategy that supports performance, expansion of the current products and services, whilst also establishing new growth markets that will lead to a larger footprint for the business • You’ll be identifying working with the Director of Core Skills and the commercial team, how to develop, and deliver new business • Secure and onboard key employer accounts, building the platform for long term client relationships via demand and establishing the SCL Group brand • Develop local knowledge and learn how to evaluate the market landscape (including competitors’ strengths and weaknesses) and then scope out opportunities within selected sectors • Liaise with key colleagues (operations, marketing) to maximise effective client launches. Develop propositions and presentations for clients • Develop your own knowledge to ensure an up to date understanding of all contracts, content and eligibility
