Accounts Payable Specialist
About the role
The AP Specialist is responsible for preparing and recording accounting entries in the Finance module of Sage, preparing monthly reconciliations and participating in the Month-end closing activities. The AP Specialist is also responsible for certain AP activities such as supporting the calculations of commissions, cash forecast, or entering invoices in the AP module.
What you’ll do in the role
Accounting:
* Plays an active role in the monthly closing process as defined in the closing calendar.
* Helps and supports the team in case of bottlenecks.
* Prepares monthly balance sheet reconciliation to trial balance with supporting schedules.
* Weekly cash flow statement preparation and interpretation.
* Managing relationships with third parties (auditors, foreign payroll providers, foreign TAX and VAT consultancy firms).
* Ensures intercompany accounts are in balance and coordinates reconciliations with other Finance groups.
Accounts Payable:
* Process certain categories of AP invoices in Sage.
* On an ad hoc basis, maintain suppliers master data in Sage.
* Ensure approval of AP invoices according to corporate policy & process.
* Control accuracy of legal requirements on invoices received (VAT, addresses, etc.).
* Investigate and resolve suppliers invoices discrepancies.
* Save electronically all invoices received.

Essential:
* Advanced IT skills in MS tools (Excel).
* Strong accounting knowledge.
* Commercial & Business awareness.
* European VAT knowledge.
* Fluent in English (spoken and written), French a plus.
