About the team
The Transformation Delivery team within Diageo Supply Chain & Procurement is set up to define and deliver against the Supply Chain & Procurement strategy with a set of clear and wide-reaching accountabilities. We deliver against these priorities with our purpose to “partner across the Supply Chain & Procurement Leadership Team, leveraging data and insights to define and deliver our strategy for competitive advantage, whilst driving the ongoing optimisation of our supply network.”
About the role
The role will report into the Head of Supply Network Design. The Project manager leads with a team of Network Modelling Specialists who with their technical expertise support E2E Modelling and insight generation. This role heavily relies on collaboration with other functions and markets to ensure alignment and integration of the supply network design with the business objectives and strategy.
They also support the Long-Term Strategic Planning (LTSP) scenario simulation for the Supply Chain, translating Group Strategy’s 10-year long range sales volume forecast into production volumes by site to enable long range capacity planning, sustainability and supply base planning.
Role Responsibilities
1. Manage multiple supply network design projects within the Supply Agility Programme, enhancing the agility, resilience, efficiency and sustainability of our supply chain network.
2. Design the optimal supply chain network for the company, considering customer demand, growth, production capacity, inventory levels, transportation costs, service levels, resiliency, and sustainability metrics.
3. Ensure prioritisation and timely high-quality delivery of projects, aligned to the agreed project scope.
4. Analyse the current state of the supply chain network, identify gaps and opportunities, and propose solutions to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and sustainability.
5. Develop and maintain supply network models and scenarios using data-driven and analytical methods to support decision making and scenario planning.
6. Lead, coach, and develop the Supply Network Design team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
7. Document and present the outcome of Supply Network Design studies to senior stakeholders in the business including the GSCO, CFO and CEO.
8. Support with Scenario simulation of the LTSP process for Supply Chain & Procurement globally.
9. Coordinate and manage project resources, ensuring efficient allocation and utilization.
10. Facilitate communication and collaboration among project stakeholders, including senior management, technical teams, and external partners.
11. Develop and implement project management best practices, standards, and methodologies.
Experience & Skills Required
1. Experience or conceptual understanding of supply chain network design & optimization, preferably in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment.
2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle complex and ambiguous situations.
3. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and persuade others.
4. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate teams and deliver results.
5. Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to cope with changing business needs and priorities.
