Your Role as a Technical Operations Technician
As a Technical Operations Technician, you will be the first point of contact for IT-related support at HMP Addiewell. You’ll work closely with the Technical Operations Manager and Engineer to troubleshoot issues, identify improvements, and support users across various systems including CCTV, alarms, access control, and networks. Your work will be essential in ensuring the smooth operation and security of the prison's technical infrastructure.
In this role, you will complete daily checks and tool audits, manage change requests such as new user setups and access controls, and support the delivery and installation of equipment like phones and printers. You will also manage stock control, log incidents, produce user guides, and oversee third-party contractors during on-site work. Your attention to detail and ability to prioritise will ensure that incidents are resolved promptly and all systems run efficiently.
You'll also play a part in site procurement processes, from raising purchase orders to receiving goods and resolving any issues with deliveries. This hands-on role is vital in maintaining operational continuity and contributes directly to the secure and effective running of the prison.

* Eligible to obtain SC clearance and pass Disclosure Scotland checks.
