Required from May 2025 or September 2025 Teaching Assistant (fixed term for 1 year)
Term Time only Monday to Friday 8.30am to 3.15pm Half an hour lunch taken between 1pm-1.30pmSalary: Point 3-5 FTE: £27,729-£28,521 Pro-rata £21,015-£21,615St Matthew’s C of E Primary School is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant, with Lunchtime/Play team responsibilities. The applicant will work alongside class teachers to support them and the children in the classroom and they will facilitate play opportunities in order to provide a stimulating play environment at lunchtimes as well as supervising the meal time. At St. Matthew’s, we have recently embarked upon our OPAL journey which is encouraging Outdoor Play and Learning so it is a very exciting time to be joining this dynamic team.
Some 1:1 assistance with pupils with special educational needs may be required.
The successful applicant will:
Have excellent communication skills
Be able to follow instructions but also use their initiative
Be able to develop positive relationships with the pupils which motivate them to learn
Have O Level Grade C or above in English and Maths, or relevant previous experience in schools
Have empathy and experience of working with pupils with autism
