We are seeking a talented Systems Architect to join our client's expert SATCOM team! They're working on the development and management of the future system architecture for the SATCOM Programmes, specifically the Skynet 6 initiative. This role is a unique opportunity to play a key role in a large public sector project, contributing to cutting-edge satellite communication technologies and systems within a SATCOM Engineering Design Authority (SEDA) Team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain the future SATCOM system architecture (To-Be) within the program's repository.
2. Support the transition from current (As-Is) to future (To-Be) architecture, guiding the architecture roadmap.
3. Provide technical architecture expertise for the SATCOM system, including integration with Defence Digital Architecture and End-to-End Enterprise Architecture.
4. Ensure rigorous configuration control and documentation across the system's lifecycle.
Skills & Experience Required:
1. A background in Systems Engineering, with a focus on systems analysis and architecture management for complex systems.
2. Extensive experience managing architecture baselines and controlling system interfaces.
3. Expertise in Satellite Communication Systems.
4. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, bridging technical and non-technical teams.
5. Experience in public sector procurement, ideally with familiarity with the Defence Operating Model.
Desirable:
1. UK Developed Vetting Clearance (DV).
2. Knowledge of Military Satellite Systems and MOD working practices.
3. Familiarity with architecture tools (Sparx EA, BizzDesign) and frameworks (TOGAF, NAF, MODAF).
4. Understanding of architecture modeling such as ArchiMate and SysML.
