Your Role
The Safety, Health and Environment Co-Ordinator acts as an interface between the KN site operations team, on-site Quality Manager, and the QSHE Business Partners to proactively champion a culture of health & safety, colleague wellbeing, care, and an environmentally friendly workplace.
Your Responsibilities
* Actively work with vertical and site management teams in the implementation of Safety, Health and Environment requirements ensuring that company and legal standards are implemented.
* Fulfil the requirement for competent Health and Safety Assistance across prescribed areas of responsibility.
* Support the development and application of the Safety, Health, and Environment audit program.
* Actively contribute to and support the development and implementation of corporate and company policies, processes, and procedures.
* Key stakeholder in the QSHE knowledge share community group including the reportable incident group.
* Liaise with the QSHE BP on QSHE objectives and the implementation and monitoring of SHE programs.
* Develop and deliver Safety and Health Leadership development training program.
* Assist in ensuring vertical and Site Leadership teams are supported and enabled to deliver QSHE programs and objectives.
* Where required, escalate, drive and support non-conformance resolutions and remedial actions.
* Conduct regular site risk assessments and risk control processes in support with the QSHE Business Partner. Lead by example and promote the No Harm methodology.
* Effectively manage the reporting of all Accidents/incidents using the QSHE Business Tool (QBT), complete thorough investigations and complete all associated actions in a timely manner.
* Approve Lost Time Incidents (LTI’s) on the business tool to ensure they meet the required standard before central approval and/or external reporting.
* Conduct colleague safety observations and hazard reporting. Promptly respond to any safety concerns, unsafe acts, and near miss reports raised by employees.
Your Skills and Experiences
* Health & Safety experience in the logistics sector, with a focus on Contract Logistics.
* Knowledge of the UK healthcare market with operational understanding.
* Proven track record of managing health, safety, and environmental legislation, regulations, and subsequent operational requirements.
* Understand and respect company confidentiality and compliance regulations (e.g., Code of Conduct).
* Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, understanding of customer system integrations e.g., EDI.
* Excellent written and verbal skills.
* Professional, committed, reliable, and honest.
* Hardworking and comfortable working under pressure.
* Good team player with the ability to work with people across the business unit(s).
* Tenacity and curiosity, perseverance, and resistant to challenge.
