Job Description: Press Tool Design Engineer
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Press Tool Design Engineer with CREO expertise to join our established, globally recognized manufacturing solutions company. With over 35 years of industry leadership, our client specializes in electrical cabling and connection solutions worldwide. Due to ongoing growth, we are expanding our Solutions Design team and looking for a proactive professional to contribute to our success.
Responsibilities:
1. Design and develop press tools and fixtures, implementing manufacturing and assembly process improvements.
2. Understand company objectives and strive to meet KPIs and metrics, enhancing efficiencies and reducing downtime.
3. Create technical reports and presentations, summarizing scientific and engineering principles.
4. Develop new tooling components, perform CAD modeling, prototyping, testing, and conduct stress-strain and DFMEA/PFMEA analyses.
5. Identify and implement new systems and processes to improve quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
6. Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and develop solutions to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
7. Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and contractors at all levels.
8. Manage projects to ensure timely, standard-compliant, and budget-friendly delivery.
9. Support manufacturing activities, create CAD drawings, and review and store tooling designs.
10. Maintain product and process data, and undertake NPD testing and research as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
1. At least 4+ years of experience in press tooling design or a similar role.
2. Qualified to at least HNC level or above in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.
3. Proficiency with SAP/ERP systems.
4. Experience with 3D CAD software (CREO Parametric or SolidWorks).
5. Knowledge of press tooling, jigs, fixtures, and metal manufacturing processes, including ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
