Join Our Team as a Plumbing & Heating Category Manager at Bradfords Building Supplies
Bradfords Building Supplies Ltd is a well-established, independent builders' merchant with a proud history dating back to 1770. With a strong presence across the South West of England, we have built our reputation on exceptional customer service and the expertise of our dedicated team. We’re now looking for an experienced Plumbing & Heating Category Manager to join our Support Centre in Yeovil and help drive our continued growth.
Your Role:
You will be responsible for managing the entire product lifecycle within the plumbing and heating category, from introducing new products to phasing out discontinued items. You’ll oversee the product range, set pricing, and ensure stock levels are maintained to meet customer demand. A key focus will be on optimizing product availability to ensure we consistently deliver the products our customers need.
Your ability to use data and market insights to track performance will be key in hitting sales and margin targets. You’ll work alongside the sales teams, ensuring that strategies align with business goals, while constantly keeping an eye on market trends and competitor activity.
Negotiating with suppliers at all levels will be a critical aspect of the role, ensuring we secure the best products and value for both the business and our customers. Building strong relationships with existing and new suppliers will be crucial for achieving profitability. You’ll also collaborate with multiple teams across the business, contributing to the company’s ongoing success and long-term strategy.
What We’re Looking For:
We are looking for someone with commercial experience in Category Management, Procurement, or Buying, within the plumbing and heating sector. You should have a strong understanding of plumbing and heating products and their supply chains. Experience working with buying groups is desirable but not essential. You’ll be highly numerate, organised, and detail-oriented, with a proven track record of meeting targets and deadlines.
A business-related degree or qualification is preferred but not essential. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is proactive, enjoys problem-solving, and is ready to contribute to a thriving and dynamic business.
