Job Overview
The Dyson Cancer Centre, a state-of-the-art facility providing oncology and haematology services, is seeking a dedicated Clinical Practice Education Facilitator (Band 6) to shape educational initiatives within our Day Unit. This role involves supporting staff development, ensuring clinical practice remains current, and delivering targeted training on Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) competencies.
Main Duties
1. Lead staff induction and professional development programs within the Medlock Unit.
2. Manage the induction process for new staff, ensuring they are competent and confident in their roles.
3. Facilitate annual SACT update training in collaboration with the SACT CNS team.
4. Deliver ad hoc training on new treatments and lead in-house teaching sessions.
5. Ensure staff are trained and competent in the use of all clinical equipment.
6. Support staff in their professional development and guide them towards relevant courses.
7. Allocate mentors for new staff in coordination with senior staff.
8. Provide ongoing support to new staff and address any issues promptly.
Person Specification
* Experience working autonomously.
* Experience with SACT.
* Teaching qualification or equivalent experience.
