The tax specialist will cover all taxes and will focus on tax compliance and reporting, with opportunities to be involved in advisory aspects. The position involves working closely and in collaboration with the business and the accounting services and tax functions locally and globally, as well as external tax advisers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the management of the direct and indirect tax compliance processes (namely corporation tax, VAT, plastics tax), which are undertaken by the in-house tax team, the accounting shared services centre, and/or outsourced to external tax advisers, ensuring all deadlines are adhered to.
2. Support the oversight of the monthly group and annual statutory accounts reporting process as it relates to tax, which is undertaken by the accounting shared services centre, ensuring all deadlines are adhered to.
3. Assist the team dealing with any tax inquiries or queries from HMRC.
4. Support the team to provide tax guidance, advice, and support across all taxes to the business and wider organization.
5. Annual PSA preparation and submission (assisted by an external provider).
6. Assist on various ad hoc tasks, projects, and transactions, including tax governance-related issues.
7. Support the implementation of the Global tax policies, including transfer pricing.
Essential Qualities
1. Experience in a multinational company either in a tax function or finance area with exposure to taxes, or from an accounting and tax services advisory firm.
2. Professional qualifications in accounting and/or tax.
3. Good understanding of corporation tax and VAT.
4. Experience in transfer pricing, UK R&D, and Irish taxes is an advantage.
5. Works independently within guidelines and policies, with minimal guidance.
