We are looking for a Wills & Probate Solicitor (or equivalent qualifications and experience will also be considered) to become part of our thriving award-winning Wills & Probate Team in a busy city centre firm. The role involves dealing with a full range of matters including wills, lasting powers of attorney, wealth planning/protection, probate, intestate administration, as well as trusts, COP, and generally elderly client matters.
The successful candidate will assist the Head of the Department, take on a full caseload of existing files, build their own workload, and supervise junior staff within the team. Career progression is available within the firm, with opportunities to be involved in marketing and business building.
We are looking for:
1. Good working knowledge and experience of Wills, probate, trusts, and elderly client practice.
2. Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.
3. Experience preparing Estate or Trust Accounts and distribution of the same.
4. Good English, grammar, and spelling.
5. Experience of making all relevant applications (Grant or Registration etc.).
6. Numerical skills.
7. Excellent communication skills - experience in dealing with clients via telephone and face-to-face is essential.
8. Ability to organise and prioritise workload.
9. Ability to work effectively within a team as well as independently.
10. Ability to work under pressure as and when required (this may involve some flexibility in working hours).
Experience of supervising staff is desirable, as is knowledge and experience of our database, Partner for Windows; however, training will be provided. We would encourage the successful candidate to become a member of SFE and become a STEP qualified practitioner.
