Senior Site Manager – Brora and Clynelish Distilleries
Locations: Brora, Scotland (a beautiful location - with accommodation!)
Initial Fixed Term Contract - 14 months
Closing date – July 16th 2024
We are looking for a talented person to fill an initial fixed term contract to lead our two most Northerly distilleries. They are situated on the outskirts of the picturesque village of Brora in Sutherland with stunning views of surrounding countryside and out to the North Sea.
With 4.5 million litres or spirit produced at Clynelish each year, the character is unique to Diageo’s flavour profiles and is of great importance to the business. The smaller and recently renovated site, Brora has benefitted from huge capex investment, is smaller in output at 1 million litres a year – making the two sites together an interesting and privileged profile to lead.
The sites are part of Diageo’s Luxury Brand Home portfolio, welcoming many VIP customers to enjoy the traditional style of whisky production and warehousing in a Scottish coastal location. This vital role plays an important part within Diageo Scotch and the wider supply chain.
Your Impact on the Role:
1. Manage day to day operational performance, health and safety, compliance, quality, service delivery, sustainability, productivity ensuring all are achieved in line with business targets and ambitions
2. Develop our people, ensuring teams are engaged, motivated, and fully trained to meet the operational targets
3. Drive outstanding performance by strategically leading operations
4. Ensure site operations comply with statutory requirements, compliance and Diageo standards
5. Lead strategic and organisational change to achieve a range of targets and continuous improvements
Key Responsibilities:
6. Develop business processes for product quality, plant cleanliness, compliance and maintenance
7. Innovate and improve site production processes
8. Collaborate with a range of stakeholders, across levels, from brand homes to internal and external business partners
9. Coach and mentor team members for personal development and training programs
About You:
10. Experience in a high performing supply chain operations environment mainly in FMCG
11. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, maintenance, CAPEX investments, operational KPIs, performance management and budget management
12. Technical understanding of the malt and distilling manufacturing process would be advantageous
13. Strong leadership capabilities, ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders
14. Highly motivated leader with a strong opportunity and growth mindset
