We are looking for an Internal Audit Manager to join our Clerk of the Parliaments Office at House of Lords. This is a position where you will be hands-on in the audit planning process, undertake several audits from the plan and regularly tracking and reporting on the annual audit plan to assess the progress of the team. You will also be responsible for continuously improving and developing the Internal Audit (IA) function and working to build relationships with other key stakeholders, particularly those within our Governance Team to ensure collaborative and cohesive working. You will also line manage two auditors, providing appropriate guidance, support and coaching whilst reviewing all output. This is an opportunity to work on a hybrid basis where you will be able to work 2 days from home and 3 days onsite at Parliament This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong practical knowledge of leading and advising in an IA function, enjoys working with a range of stakeholders and can organise tasks to achieve structured deadlines. Youll be accountable for Deputising for the Head of IA when required which may include attending ARAC meetings and contributing to the development and preparation of ARAC papers Responsibility for delivering allocated share of the IA plan Tracking and reporting progress on the internally resourced portion of the IA plan Responsibility for manging the follow-up programme, including monitoring and reporting overdue management actions and liaising with relevant management Mentoring and guiding staff with regard to training and continuing professional development within the section The continuous development of the IA function through the establishment and management of a formal IA Quality Improvement Plan, including relevant performance indicators What were looking for CMIIA or CCAB qualified with appropriate IA management experience Experience in an IA leadership role including direct management of audit staff Practical knowledge of current IA best practice, including approaches, tools and techniques Established knowledge of current professional standards and their application Ability to deliver high-quality audit work to agreed timescales Strong communication skills and the ability to convey information to senior stakeholders clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing Ability to develop strong, effective relationships with a wide range of contacts while maintaining professionalism, independence and objectivity It would be even better if you had Established team ethic and an ability to prioritise the objectives of the section at all times Ability to recognise and develop opportunities for continuous improvement of all elements of the IA function For full details of the role responsibilities and what were looking for, please see the attached job description.
