Interview date: 7 - 10 April 2025
We’ve been delivering veterinary services to Grimsby’s local community since 1959, helping over 10,000 unique pets every year. From routine procedures like neutering to intricate surgeries and advanced diagnostics, our hospital offers a comprehensive range of treatments.
Join us as an Animal Care assistant to be a part of the difference in helping pets and their families!
More about the role
Each day will see you providing care to the pets in our hospitals which includes cleaning, feeding, exercising, grooming, laundry, dispensing medication, administering treatment, dealing with clients on our busy reception and taking payments. Working closely with our Vets and Nurses, you will be assisting them with the preparation of patients and the operating theatre for surgery. You will be monitoring our patient’s health, wellbeing and behaviour as well as those recovering from anaesthetic.
This particular role will involve working closely 1:1 with the emergency vet, providing around the clock care for a range of different inpatients. This will include animal handling, patient monitoring, and maintaining good communication with the vet throughout.
The rota pattern is as follows:
1. 2 on, 3 off
2. 2 on, 4 off
3. 3 on, 2 off
4. 3 on, 2 off
5. 4 on, 3 off
Due to the nature of the work of Blue Cross and this post, it may be necessary to exceed these hours when the workload demands.
If you excel in an environment where you can see the difference you make every day, then this is the role for you!
