Join Our Team as an Estates and Facilities Manager Designed around the principles of inspiration, visual communication and inclusivity, our award winning campus places the Academy at the cutting-edge of Deaf education in Europe. The Deaf Academy has a prominent position in Exmouth and plays an important role in preparing our students for a happy, healthy and fulfilling future whilst enabling students to get involved and socialise in the community. As the Estates and Facilities Manager, you will lead the estates, catering and cleaning teams, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment across three sites. In addition to our primary site on Douglas Avenue (incorporating a school, college and residential service) we have an Exmouth based Children's Home, and, building on our success, we have Fearnside House and Bradbury Learning Centre, our post-19 provision. You will oversee the management and development of the sites, facilities and premises, with a focus on enhancing sustainability. Additionally you will manage risk and serve as the Academy Health and Safety Officer, ensuring quality assurance, monitoring and recording in these areas. Key Responsibilities: With overall responsibility for estates and facilities, you will ensure compliance with standards, inspections and servicing to support a high quality and safe environment for our students, staff and visitors. Prepare and manage the Premises and Maintenance plan and project manage maintenance and development works including contractor management. Compile annual maintenance and capital budgets and ensure effective procurement and monitoring financial performance. As Health and Safety Officer, you will undertake the role of ensuring and reporting on compliance and management of risk assessments. You will ensure that statutory regulations for workplace fire safety are monitored and maintained, including completing regular fire drills. Your role will importantly focus on site security including access controls and alarm systems, ensuring effective safeguarding arrangements for students. You will oversee and manage the effective operation of catering and cleaning services. Manage external lettings of facilities and identify and grow new income opportunities. Why Join Us?
