Job Description: Head of Business Development Kahootz are a leading provider of secure collaboration software to a range of clients including in the central government, healthcare and defence domains. The software is cloud based and designed to help teams improve their efficiency through closer collaboration, enabled by a comprehensive toolset include file sharing, discussions forums and dynamic databases. The software sits at the core of a number of nationally significant, but classified, defence programmes and was instrumental in supporting the rapid reaction to the COVID pandemic in the NHS. POSITION: The Head of Business Development at Kahootz is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving the company’s growth strategy in the current market segments as well as exploring new markets. This position entails developing and executing a comprehensive business development strategy that identifies new market opportunities, fosters strategic relationships, and enhances Kahootz’s market presence. The Head of Business Development will conduct in-depth market research, oversee proposal development, and collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure alignment on objectives and initiatives. By leveraging industry insights and networking at key events, this role aims to position Kahootz as a leader in providing secure cloud-based collaboration solutions. In addition to strategic planning, the Head of Business Development will monitor performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of business development activities, making data-driven adjustments as necessary. The role also includes mentoring and developing the business development team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance. With a focus on building strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, this position is critical in driving revenue growth and ensuring Kahootz remains competitive in a rapidly evolving market landscape. KEY OBJECTIVES: Develop and Execute Business Development Strategy: Create and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to drive revenue growth and expand market presence in the defence, government, and healthcare sectors. Identify New Market Opportunities: Conduct thorough market research to identify emerging trends, potential clients, and strategic partnerships that align with Kahootz’s objectives. Build and Maintain Strategic Relationships: Foster and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and partners to facilitate collaboration and create new business opportunities. Lead Proposal Development: Oversee the development of high-quality proposals and presentations that effectively communicate the value of Kahootz’s offerings to prospective clients. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Strategic Development and Planning Business Development Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy that aligns with overall company goals and targets specific market segments. Market Research and Analysis: Conduct regular market analysis to identify product growth opportunities, emerging trends, and inform strategic commercial decision-making. Proposal Oversight: Lead the creation of compelling proposals and presentations that highlight Kahootz’s capabilities and value proposition to prospective clients. Relationship Management and Networking Relationship Building: Working with the customer success team, build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders to promote collaboration and new business opportunities. Industry Networking: Represent Kahootz at industry events, conferences, and forums to enhance visibility and build a strong professional network. Stakeholder Engagement: Actively engage with key stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and create new business opportunities. Performance Tracking and Team Development Sales Support: Collaborate with the commercial team to develop sales strategies and support initiatives that drive revenue growth. Performance Tracking: Monitor and report on business development activities, measuring success against defined KPIs and adjusting strategies as necessary. Mentoring and Team Development: Mentor and develop the business development team, fostering a culture of performance and continuous improvement. JOB QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Ideally possess a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or related field or qualified by experience. An MBA is desirable. Extensive experience in a business development or sales role, with a proven track record of driving revenue growth. Relevant certificates in business development or sales strategy (i.e. Certified Business Development Professional). Participation in training programmes or workshops focused on sales technicques, negotiation skills and market trends. Familiarity with CRM software and business intelligence tools (e.g. Salesforce, HupSpot). Experience in the defence, government, or healthcare sectors, with a strong understanding of industry dynamics and client needs. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers. Experience in developing and delivering compelling proposals and presentations to potential clients.
