Job overview
**We offer a relocation package of up to £8,000**
The relocation package is for anyone who would need to relocate in order to take up employment with Cheshire and Wirral Partnership. Terms and conditions apply.
The Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Service is looking for a confident, friendly individual who has experience of working with people after an ABI and the passion to support them in managing the aftermath of what can be a life-changing event. This is a great opportunity to be part of a dynamic and motivated team while honing your neurological skills in both a community and inpatient setting. You would be joining an established and successful Neuropsychology-led service with two 8C Consultants supporting a number of Neuropsychologists and Assistant Psychologists within a multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate would be part of our Wirral team which offers community-based interventions to people who have had an ABI, primarily stroke, and their families. The team also provides an in-reach Neuropsychology service to the stroke and neurological rehabilitation unit at Clatterbridge Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The ABI Service is looking for someone who is confident in providing neuropsychological assessment and interventions and enjoys working in a multidisciplinary setting helping to guide the person’s rehabilitation. They would benefit from having experience of delivering individual therapy that is adapted to the needs of people after an ABI and helping non-psychology team members work with people who have experienced an ABI through consultation and joint working. The successful candidate will be supported to develop their skills in all of these areas, including support to apply for QiCN funding once they have settled into the role. Regular supervision and mentoring will be provided by the 8C Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist within the ABI service. The team has links with the local Doctorates in Clinical Psychology to provide lectures, mentoring of trainees and placements. Ongoing continuing professional development is encouraged with practitioners supported to develop their own interests within neuropsychology/ABI. The role offers the opportunity for blended working, including face-to-face sessions, remote sessions via telephone and video, and working from home. It will involve travelling around the Wirral.
The role is suitable for an experienced band 7 practitioner looking to develop in their career or someone already in an 8A role who would like to widen their experience in this rewarding specialty.
