Role Purpose: Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician will provide service to the site to ensure maximum plant up time by carrying out planned maintenance, corrective maintenance and capital modifications to plant. Primarily based at our Newhouse site the successful candidate may also be required to work at other sites as part of the maintenance team. We undertake our maintenance activities in a sustainable and safe way to drive improvement programmes in a continuous improvement culture. We operate a strict zero tolerance Alcohol and Drug policy across all our sites. Responsibilities: To apply the Sibelco Health, Safety & Environmental Policy, ensuring all systems/standards are applied at all times Use skills and experience to monitor plant performance and condition in order to identify potential breakdowns before they occur, ensuring that any required actions are correctly reported Be actively involved in new plant installations/modifications from the design stage through to final commissioning Provide a 24-hour, 7 day/week support service to the site via a rota call out system Ensure that all tools and equipment are properly maintained and kept in a clean and tidy condition About you: Recognised apprenticeship or equivalent SVQ/NVQ level 3 Electrical Qualification (preferred but not essential) Competent in welding and fabrication Knowledge of glass recycling processing or a similar environment would be a significant advantage A flexible and responsive approach to work, with the ability to take responsibility and justify actions Enthusiasm for accepting new challenges and opportunities to learn with a ‘can do’ attitude Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques including SMED, RCPS, 5’s, etc Enjoy working in a team whilst being comfortable working autonomously Current clean driving licence Why Join Us?
