We are recruiting Senior Residential Support Workers for our new home in Plymouth, Devon. Our home for ages 16 in a supported living setting. As a Senior Residential Support worker, you will teach and guide our young people to prepare for independent living and participate in and plan activities to support them with school and college work. You will be supporting our young people who may have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences and trauma using our trauma-informed practices, which are embedded within our culture. The Five Rivers leadership team will invest in your progression as a professional in the childcare sector. We source and deliver up-to-date training opportunities and prioritise and discuss your personal development goals to ensure you get the most out of your career. Our young people may have had many adults come in and out of their lives, often adding to their trauma. Therefore, we are looking for committed and dedicated Senior Residential Support Workers. You’ll be a natural at building a rapport with young people and full of empathy, so you can understand and relate to the young people you work with. In this role you need to be emotionally aware and resilient to be able to support the young people and the staff team you will be working with Hours You will be working on average 39 hours per week; you must be able to commit to between 2-3 sleep-ins per week, and you will receive an additional £50 per sleep-in. Generally, you will be working a two-on-four-off Shift pattern. During your training period, you will be expected to work Monday to Friday, 9 am – 5 pm, with an expectation that you may have to travel. Working alone with young people will also be expected in this home. A driver’s licence is essential for this role.
