About the role
Hargreaves Lansdown (HL) are now recruiting for an experienced Senior Communications Manager on a 7-month fixed term contract. As the Senior Communications Manager you'll be supporting the Corporate Affairs Director, Executive Leadership Team, Head of Communications and wider Senior Leadership in:
Building and protecting HL's reputation
Leading the communications response to issues
Ensuring HL's core narrative and agreed messages are consistent across stakeholder groups.
What you'll be doing
Managing HL's corporate communications including press office enquiries on a variety of topics, engaging across the organisation to find timely and accurate responses
Managing reputational risk and ensuring a coordinated approach across HL's key stakeholders through responsibility for day-to-day running of the Corporate Affairs Group
Supporting HL's external perception by managing relationships with journalists, both reactive and proactive
Leading response on communication responses to crisis and issues preparation and management
Leading coordination of corporate narrative through financial reporting calendar, Annual General Meeting, and other shareholder events
Leading on coordination of internal communications related to HL's financial calendar, business performance and strategy, including supporting SLT sessions as appropriate
Providing comprehensive support on the development and continual evolution of HL's core narrative that actively supports and reinforces HL's reputation and media position
Working closely with a communications executive who supports on corporate communications and risk management activities.
About you
You will have experience of corporate communications and media relations at a listed business, or in a communications consultancy, preferably in financial services including:
Leading on issues planning and management, as well as engaging directly with journalists
Supporting crisis management
Working with Investor Relations and third-party advisers on communications around financial reporting and in producing annual report and accounts or preparing for AGMs
Skilled at stakeholder management, with experience in leveraging an internal network to gather information, using judgement and working to tight deadlines
Ability to juggle competing priorities across a broad and fast-paced environment
Excellent communication skills and the ability to synthesise complex information in an engaging and simplistic way.
Interview process
The interview process for this role will be two stages including a task.
Working Schedule
This role is based in Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We have returned to the office, however for this role we offer a hybrid flexible working pattern to enable you the option of working from home and coming into the office 2-3 days a week.
