About The Post
The Housing and Welfare Team is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, resilient and committed individual. Key priorities for the team include:
* Moving from a reactive crisis management homeless service to a predominantly early intervention and prevention service.
* Improving customer access and experience of the service.
* Working closely with partners to address the underlying causes of homelessness.
* Reducing the number of rough sleepers on the streets of Barnsley.
The role is based at our 24 hour supported housing provision working alongside a team of Housing Led Caseworkers, providing support and advice to a range of tenants, many of whom have experienced rough sleeping and have complex needs. The role will be varied and include tasks such as covering duty at the residential setting, face to face customer contact, updating and maintaining computerised systems, assisting in the monitoring and analysing of performance data, assisting in budget monitoring, and invoicing processes, as well as giving advice and responding to customer enquiries.
This role requires a person who is resilient, with excellent communication skills, the ability to deal with members of the public, prioritise and monitor workloads to meet deadlines, and work in partnership with colleagues or on your own initiative according to demands. A level 3 qualification is required.
