Contract Structural Aircraft Technician (Outside IR35) Location: Isle of Wight - Easily commutable via Portsmouth Hovercraft to Ryde (approx. 40 mins 1 bus) or Southampton Red Funnel to Cowes (approx. 90 mins 2 buses) Rate: Up to £28 per hour (dependent on experience) Hours: 40 hours per week | Flexible working available Contract Length: 6 months (with potential for extension) IR35 Status: Outside IR35 We are seeking an experienced Contract Structural Aircraft Technician to support the production line fitting, repair, overhaul, and upgrade of aircraft from detail stages through to final installation and release to the flight shed. The successful candidate will work to specific instructions, meeting quality standards and deadlines within a fast-paced aerospace environment. Key Responsibilities: Conduct production line fitting, installations, overhauls, and upgrades of aircraft structures. Assist the Assembly Supervisor in identifying and implementing process improvements. Work to the production schedule and achieve defined KPIs. Maintain the highest quality standards, complying with all Company Quality Assurance Procedures. Ensure workstations and surrounding areas are clean and compliant with flight safety, health, safety, and environmental legislation. Complete all required audit and quality documentation. Interpret and work confidently from detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications. Support the integration of new products and processes into full manufacture across multi-disciplinary teams. Maintain robust tool control standards. Key Skills and Attributes: Extensive experience in structural aircraft fitting, installation, and repairs. Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. High attention to detail, particularly regarding quality and compliance. Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Proven ability to meet deadlines in a high-standards environment.
