Electrical Engineering Technician
Reports to: Engineering Manager

Located: Inverness / Aberdeen
The overall purpose of this role is to provide both reactive and proactive maintenance services on all operational assets and site facilities. Fault finding, repairs, site upgrades, and improvements will also be part of the role. The role will be mainly electrical bias but will include mechanical work.
Work will be generated and managed using a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS). The engineering technician will have responsibility for managing this system, ensuring records and tasks are updated and signed off accordingly.
Responsibilities include:
1. Electrical work: minor maintenance, repairs, inspections, and installations.
2. Reviewing site electrical drawings and ensuring they are up to date.
3. Carrying out isolations for all electrical assets on the Terminal as required for operational/maintenance work.
4. Fault finding on electrical assets, supporting mechanical fault finding when possible.
5. Maintaining documented records of engineering and maintenance activities.
6. Mechanical work: minor maintenance, repairs, inspections, and installations.
7. Managing electrical works within CMMS, overseeing in-house tasks and larger contracted works.
8. Managing annual electrical inspections, including scope of work, bid analysis, and planning.
9. Assisting in managing and developing electrical projects and site upgrades.
10. Supporting the Engineering Manager with electrical projects and management of change processes.
11. Supporting EC&I HSE intervention plans as required.
12. Ensuring effective communication with personnel to promote safe and efficient operations.
13. Managing electrical contractors on site, ensuring work standards and policies are followed.
Qualifications/Experience Required:
* Fully qualified as an Electrical Engineer or Electrician with suitable qualifications or a time-served apprenticeship.
* At least 2 years’ industrial experience, preferably in Oil & Gas (downstream) or Process industries.
* Educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
* Minimum 17th Edition Wiring Regulations.
* Membership of an accredited management institute or recognized body.
* Understanding of Process Safety.
Personal skills/attributes required:
* Self-motivated and proactive.
* Effective verbal and written communication and influencing skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
* Excellent report writing and document management skills.
