Responsible for all areas of financial management including audits, payroll and financial reporting. You’ll ensure we remain
compliant, efficient and aligned with the charity’s twin aims. This is a unique opportunity that combines strategy with hands on

Main purpose of the job
Accountable for the financial management of the charity including management and financial reporting, audit and payroll
Active member of the Leadership Team to embed and develop the financial elements of the business plan.
Input into the development of organisational strategy, annual action plans and business plans.
Maintain financial systems and control processes

Expectations
Finance management
* Be responsible for quarterly management reporting including budgeting and forecasting, any external financial reports and
Board reports.
* Liaise with the CEO and Finance Trustee on governance and compliance
* Be involved in strategy planning days with the Leadership Team and Board of Trustees.
* Liaise with internal auditors
* Monitor financial risks and report emerging financial risks to the CEO
* Assist in the preparation of accounts and financial statements in conjunction with the Chief Executive Officer, Finance Trustee
and Auditors
* Be responsible for financial reporting including liaising with auditors, accounts drafting and review
* Support the Funding Officer with budgets for funding bids, and maintain these models
* Be responsible for payroll and liaising as the main point of contact with Payroll Bureau.
* Be the main contact for banking and other financial third parties
* Monitor cash flow forecast and take action to manage the banking arrangements as necessary
* Maintain financial systems and seek to improve efficiency
* Ensure all financial policies and procedures are adhered to
* Review financial policies and procedures on a periodic basis to reflect changes in the operating and regulatory environment.
Leadership and management
* Line management responsibilities for the Finance Support Officer.
* Work closely and regularly with the Finance Support Officer to ensure effective financial control.
* Create a positive working environment in which equity and diversity are well managed.
* Handling of complaints or grievance procedures where required and appropriate.
* Promote dignity at work so that staff and volunteers can do their best and feel valued.
* Foster a coaching and mentoring working environment.
* Liaise with Leadership Team members to ensure smooth delivery of the service.
* Advise CEO and HR and L&D Manager of issues and assist with ongoing monitoring and support to address areas of
underperformance.
* Support the appraisal process and learning and development.
* Attend regular meetings as required
* Consult, where necessary, with other local Citizens Advice offices to share and develop best practice at CA TNMWD.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential:
Experience in leadership and team management.
Holds a recognised finance qualification, or equivalent experience.
Excellent communication and analytical skills.
Ability to work under pressure and to KPIs.
Expert in Microsoft Office 365 and particularly MS Excel.
Have a driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Right to work in the UK.
Ability to identify and mitigate against financial risks.
Be flexible in ability to travel as required for site visits, meetings and training.
Demonstrate commitment to work within the aims, principles and policies of the Citizens Advice service.
Work collaboratively with leadership team to drive effective service delivery.
Commitment to ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
Desirable:
Experience in the charitable/third sector.
