We support our customers through maintenance and operation optimisation with customised solutions for spare parts, repair, and overhaul activities on existing trains. Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30pm and Friday 08:00am to 13:00pm, 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
How will you make a difference?
The key aim of the role is to optimise the assembly and manufacturing process by:
1. Studying product and manufacturing methods
2. Designing and delivering robust process flows and work instructions
3. Supporting manufacturing program and continuous improvement disciplines in providing cost effective manufacturing processes for new and existing programs
What will your typical day look like?
As a Methods Engineer, you will:
1. Be the interface with the engineering team for cost effective introduction of new products
2. Support Production with the investigation of complex production problems, analyzing, and recommending corrective solutions or improvements to ensure proper production flow
3. Participate in the design of workplace and cell layouts to promote efficient overhaul and manufacturing process flow
4. Identify build sequence and develop product structure for assigned overhaul, assembly, or manufacturing operations
5. Read, interpret, and evaluate drawings, models, and designs for assembly and manufacture
6. Design tools, fixtures, test rigs, and jigs
7. Lead improvement projects and give presentations to managers and staff
8. Maintain, develop, and update Work Instructions in line with the newest practices and improvements
9. Maintain correct revisions of all documentation
What do we want to know about you?
Qualifications:
1. HNC engineering qualification required or equivalent
2. Good understanding of mathematics, Lean principles, and tools, Six Sigma
3. CAD Qualification is desirable
