What's involved with this role: Role: Lead Procurement Manager – Complex Infrastructure Contracts Job Ref: QAD 1942 /0410 Pay Rate: Competitive Market Rate Hours per week: 37 hours per week Contract Length: Initially 12 months Location: Reading, West Berkshire We are seeking an experienced Lead Procurement Manager to oversee major procurement projects, strategic partnerships, and alliances. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating NEC contracts, with expertise in the procurement of complex infrastructure contracts, ideally under PCR, DSPCR, or UCR regulations. You should possess solid program management skills, with a track record of working and leading matrix teams effectively. As a natural leader with high emotional intelligence, you excel in coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams. An eye for detail, exceptional people skills, and a results-oriented mindset are essential to providing strategic oversight and ensuring procurement success across the organisation. Key requirements: Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating NEC contracts. Experience managing major procurement projects, including alliances/strategic partnerships/enterprises Experience in procurement programme management. Experience working and leading matrix teams Exceptional leadership skills, to help coach, mentor and develop a high-performing team. Expertise in the procurement of complex infrastructure contracts, with experience of the PCR and/or DSPCR. However, similar experience with the UCR would also be considered. An eye for detail and be able to review, challenge and provide ongoing oversight and advice to all aspects of procurement strategy and management.
