Job overview
** THIS POSITION IS ONLY OPEN TO CURRENT UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS NHS FOUNDATION TRUST EMPLOYEES **
University Hospitals Sussex (UHSx) is involved in a project to merge our ICE order communications system into an enterprise ICE solution to allow seamless requesting across 3 trusts.
The ICE system is an online requesting tool for clinicians to request imaging and pathology tests directly to each departments, which dispenses the need for paper request forms.
This configuration lead role will be based across different University Hospitals Sussex Radiology Department sites – namely Royal Sussex County Hospital, Royal Alexander Childrens Hospital, Princess Royal, St Richards Hospital, Worthing Hospital and Southlands Hospital, with a requirement to visit each site on an adhoc basis.
You will be required to undertake trust & vendor provided training on both ICE and CRIS (the trusts Radiology Information System). The training will focus on configuring the front and back ends of ICE and CRIS and will ensure you are able to extensively test the final product.
UHSx currently has 2 ICE instances: one for Brighton & Princess Royal Hospitals, and one for St Richards, Worthing and Southlands Hospitals. As a part of this role, you will be expected to analyse both ICE systems, identify differences and present these to clinical management, who will then decide how best to align the design of both systems.
The succesful candidate will be seconded to the Sussex Ordercomms Project until 31/03/25.
Main duties of the job
Organise meetings, assess and compare designs under guidance from departmental leads, test and configure the system, understand and document all changes.
