HS&E Advisor – Environment What you will be doing: An opportunity has arisen for an HS&E Advisor to join the team at Galliford Try. As HS&E Advisor, you will support the Framework HS&E Manager on all health, safety, and environmental aspects. You will support and implement the HS&E strategy and systems to ensure that the delivery of our operations meets exemplary safety, health, and environmental standards. This role supports improvement and consistency in performance, ensuring compliance with management systems, and implementing continual improvement initiatives. Foster and support an inclusive, open, transparent, and collaborative environment that supports our HS&E culture, maturity, and behaviours to deliver HS&E excellence. Support the implementation of our HS&E strategy to drive continual improvement through the business addressing short-, medium-, and long-term growth and learning. Promote a positive HS&S culture which is consistent with Galliford Try’s Challenging Beliefs and Affecting Behaviours programme and business leadership ambitions. Implement our HS&E Management System, taking account of client requirements, to align with our overall strategy and driving performance through our processes and standards. Provide technical and specialist guidance to line and site management in the implementation of HS&S programmes and initiatives. Engage with internal and external key stakeholders, including client, supply chain partners, regulatory authorities, industry bodies, and colleagues, through the plan, prepare and delivery of project lifecycle. Provides HS&E input to operational teams from the planning stage through to completion of any works, through guidance, advice, and support to support proactive planning and implementation of our HS&E standards. Takes appropriate action where our standards are not being met. Utilises HS&E performance KPIs to review performance and drives continual improvement. Feeds back outputs for wider strategic review and consideration. Contributes to continual improvement to unlock gains in HS&E performance and mitigate risk to GT that could occur through HS&E-related issues. Report to project management teams on a regular basis and attend meetings as required for and on behalf of the project team, attends meetings as required. Escalate and report any HS&E concerns to the Framework HS&S Manager. Proactively collaborate with our teams on all HS&E matters which may affect our projects. About You: Aware of individual HS&E responsibilities and adheres to company HS&E policy and procedures. Able to demonstrate alignment and work in line with the Galliford Try values - Excellence, Passion, Integrity and Collaboration. A responsible team member with an open, strategic, and analytic mind, who is committed to productivity, compliance, and continual improvement. Good communicator, written and verbal; ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. Highly collaborative and outstanding relationship building capacity, with strong communication, negotiating, engaging, and influencing skills –fostering a one-team approach across a complex organisation. Thrives in complex, dynamic, working environments and relationships. Relevant HS&E experience in a similar industry. Holds a NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate or is working towards one. Full driving licence and willingness to travel across projects / contracts in region.
