Job Overview
Rotherham Doncaster and South Humberside NHS Foundation Trust have successfully been delivering Mental Health Support Teams in Rotherham, Doncaster and North Lincolnshire schools and colleges since 2019. This project is underpinned by national strategies and initiatives for transforming children and young people’s mental health.
We have an exciting band 3 opportunity within our Doncaster team for an Assistant Education Mental Health Practitioner. We are looking to recruit a practitioner who is enthusiastic, kind, compassionate and resilient.
If you don't already have a Level 3 qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant subject, RDaSH are offering this post alongside the opportunity for you to complete a Level 3 apprenticeship qualification relevant to your role.
As an apprentice within RDaSH, you will be given the opportunity to gain experience, learn work-related skills, and obtain all the tools needed to thrive.
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. Around 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying, leading to a nationally recognised qualification.
Main Duties of the Job
This is a very exciting opportunity to be part of the expansion of MHST’s in North Lincolnshire, implementing ‘New Ways of Working’ within the local area.
With Me in Mind supports children/young people and their families by providing emotional and mental health support while enhancing existing services. The service ensures that early intervention and prevention are in place in all education providers working with school years 3 to 13.
The Assistant Education Mental Health Practitioner is an active member of the team working with others to support the delivery of mental health and emotional wellbeing activities, delivering positive outcomes for children and young people (aged 7-18 years) and their families. The post holder will deliver a range of delegated activities as part of a wider skill mix team, offering age-appropriate information and advice on emotional health, lifestyle, and behaviour-related issues.
The role will assist senior team members in delivering training, group work, and the whole school approach offer. Please see the job description for more details.
