Responsibilities
The Experienced Business System Analyst is responsible for working independently on mid-level business systems projects, gathering and analyzing business requirements, developing system specifications, and ensuring alignment between business needs and technical solutions. This role requires the ability to work on complex projects as well as support multiple customers at once. This role involves mentoring less experienced analysts.
* Requirements Gathering: Collecting and document business and system requirements. Perform tasks in accordance with iPipeline Agile practices; identify and analyze scope change.
* Business Processes: Support the analysis of current business processes and identify areas for improvement.
* Troubleshooting: Provide support in troubleshooting system issues.
* Process Mapping: Understand and assist in creating and updating process maps and flowcharts to visualize current and future business processes and system configurations.
* Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams with system testing and validation. Review and approve Master Test Plans.
* Requirements Elicitation: Lead individual and group meetings to gather detailed business requirements. Perform impact analysis. Identify and analyze scope change.
* Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for business process improvement and make recommendations.
* System Specifications: Develop system specifications and work closely with development teams to ensure alignment with business needs.
* Data Modeling: Create data models and process diagrams to represent business needs.
* Stakeholder Management: Facilitate requirements meetings and workshops with stakeholders.
* Solution Evaluation: Assist in evaluating potential solutions to meet business requirements through independent investigation. Adhere to product best practices to ensure consistent technical solution design.
Qualifications
Technical Skills
* Proficiency in more advanced tools and software for requirements management and documentation (e.g., Jira, Excel, Word, Microsoft Visio, PowerPoint). Undertake medium complexity configuration activities (RMT/Workbenches). Strong understanding of database structures and write basic queries (SQL).
* Ability to conduct more detailed data analysis and create complex reports using data analysis tools or databases (e.g., SQL).
* Deeper understanding of SDLC methodologies and the ability to apply them in various project contexts.
* Ability to create detailed business requirement documents and functional specifications.
* Proficient in various business analysis techniques such as SWOT analysis, GAP analysis, and root cause analysis.
* Advanced understanding of business process modeling techniques.
