We have an exciting Band 6 Clinical Physiologist opportunity to help with increasing demand in our Heart and Chest department (Cardiorespiratory), which provides a wide range of cardiac and respiratory invasive and non-invasive investigations including Echocardiography, ambulatory monitoring, pacing, complex device implants and follow-up, left heart and right heart catheterisation, physiologist led ILR implantation service, Holter monitoring and ETT stress echo.
Respiratory tests include full lung function, reversibility, bronchial challenge tests, hypoxic challenge test, capillary blood gases, respiratory muscle testing, overnight pulse oximetry and partial polysomnography, and Cardiopulmonary exercise testing.
You should already hold the BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent and either have or be looking to gain AHCS registration and be willing to maintain CPD.
Main duties of the job
Your role will be to carry out a wide range of cardiac diagnostic and interventional procedures to a specialist level ensuring accurate outcomes and reports which are produced to a high standard. You will work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, upholding Trust values of Respectful, Excellent, and Compassionate care, and assist in the training of apprentice Physiologists and Student Physiologists within the department.
You will undertake work in a timely and efficient way, meeting deadlines and keeping senior colleagues informed of changes in your technical workload. You will maintain clinical documentation and databases as directed, participate in the provision of data for statistical analysis, and adhere to departmental standards of record keeping with respect to accuracy, timeliness of completion, and confidentiality.
You will be expected to exercise initiative and judgement in solving problems related to your technical workload, whilst keeping others informed and recognising when there is a need to refer problems to senior colleagues and being responsive to advice given.
Your role will involve dealing with telephone queries from patients, relatives, general practitioners, etc., in a calm and professional manner, providing testing in the community where appropriate, and any other duties as requested by Senior Chief Clinical Physiologist and Principal Physiologist.

Experience
* Minimum of 1 year in Band 5 role
* 2 years experience at Band 5 level in cardiac physiology
Qualifications
* BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent
* Professional accreditation in echocardiography or devices (e.g., BSE, IBHRE, etc.)
