If appointed, you will have the opportunity to work in a welcoming and forward-thinking department. There is one senior CDF post available, commencing 05/02/25. The intention of this position is to increase exposure to critically unwell patients before applications to the national Higher Speciality recruitment processes. Opportunities will be provided to enhance portfolios of successful candidates thereby increasing competitiveness in future recruitment applications. Applications will be accepted by those who have completed ACCS training programme or who have anaesthetic training and are looking for increased exposure to critical care. Doctors within this role will be expected to participate in ward rounds, MDT meetings and reviewing patients referred to Critical Care in both the Emergency Department and wards. If appointed, you will provide out of hours commitments to the Critical Care rota on the UHC site as well as scheduled daytime sessions in UHC and UHA Critical Care. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to spend a proportion of their development time in the Department of Anaesthesia if this is one of their identified development needs. The successful applicants will have a dedicated Educational Supervisor and will be encouraged to keep a portfolio to document their critical care progression. They will be expected to participate in audit, education, and quality improvement projects within the departments. Access to support for projects is available within the following areas of interest: Treatment Escalation Planning Recovery after Intensive Care Programme (INSPIRE) Paediatric Anaesthesia Recruitment to National Research Programmes Organ Donation and End of Life Care Transfer Medicine Research including Associate PI scheme Regional Anaesthesia Acute Pain Vascular Access The appointment will be whole time for the duration of 6 months (commencing 5 th February 2025). A 50% pay supplement will be paid to recognise contribution to out of hours working and emergency duty commitments and will be based on a salary range of £45,504 - £71,550. The posts are not recognised for training. Applicants must hold Full GMC Registration with a current Licence to Practice.
