Aspire People are working with an Ofsted "Outstanding" specialist school, seeking a dedicated Primary Teacher to join their team. This is a full-time, term-time only role, working Monday to Friday, with the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the individual needs of pupils aged 6 to 19, with ASC, communication, and sensory challenges.
- Use creative and innovative strategies to ensure all students are actively engaged and learning in a way that suits their abilities and needs.
- Work closely with other professionals, including teaching assistants, speech and language therapists, and SENCOs, to provide a holistic approach to student development.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel safe, supported, and valued.
- Monitor and assess pupil progress, providing regular feedback and setting targets to support their academic and personal development.
- Promote students independence, communication skills, and social development in line with their individual education plans (IEPs).
Essential Criteria:
- A Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience in teaching at primary level.
- Knowledge and understanding of Autism Spectrum Conditions, communication, and sensory needs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students and colleagues.
- Creative, adaptable, and proactive approach to teaching, with the ability to tailor lessons to meet individual needs.
- A passion for supporting children with special educational needs and a commitment to making a positive impact.
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in a supportive and collaborative manner.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience working in a specialist school or with students with ASC.
- Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) methods or sensory interventions.
