UKFMS seeks a driven Fire Damper Engineer working as part of a team.
Duties will include carrying out maintenance & repair to a range of smoke/fire dampers; fault-finding; liaising and developing working relationships; completion of paperwork; compliance with company policies to ensure that regulations are complied with for our ongoing accreditation to safe contractor and CHAS and ISO. The reporting system is through an application on a mobile phone, requiring details to be entered of the damper including photos.
Job Role Responsibility
1. Carry out maintenance, repair, commissioning and service support to a range of fire and smoke dampers.
2. Install and replace all types of fire and smoke damper equipment accordingly.
3. Identify faults and report findings.
4. Completion of relevant paperwork including use of a live reporting mobile app.
5. Attend pre-safety brief with site management if required.
6. Participate in all pre-job “Toolbox Talks.”
7. Wear proper PPE according to safety procedures.
8. Compliance with company policies, procedures, and processes.
Person Specification
1. Educated to higher education level, preferably in science or engineering.
2. A basic understanding of mechanical and electrical fire systems design and industry regulations.
3. Ability to consult, build relationships and credibly propose solutions.
4. Competent at written communication – internally and externally.
5. Liaise and develop working relationships both with the customer and other employees within the company.
6. To support overall delivery of company goals and schedule.
7. Developed IT skills (e.g., Mobile App, Excel, Word, etc.).
8. Represent and promote the business in a professional and positive manner.
Experience & Qualifications
1. A basic understanding of mechanical fire systems design and industry regulations.
2. Successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
3. Driving license/Must be able to drive.
£38,000-time and a half for out of hours. Must be available for weekend work and out of hours.
