My client is an industry leading logistics business and are currently experiencing a period of sustained growth. Due to an internal promotion, they are looking for an experienced Transport Supervisor to join their high performing team.\n\nAbout the Role:\nWe are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Transport Operations Supervisor to oversee and enhance our transport operations. You will play a critical role in ensuring efficient deliveries, optimising processes, and maintaining high service levels.
This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with strong operational skills to make a significant impact in a dynamic logistics environment.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nOperational Oversight:\nPlan, manage, and coordinate transport operations to ensure timely and efficient deliveries.\nOptimise routes to reduce costs and improve service quality.\nEnsure full compliance with DVSA regulations, tachograph requirements, and driver working hours.\nClient and Customer Management:\nAct as the primary point of contact for clients regarding delivery schedules and performance.\nAddress and resolve transport-related issues promptly to maintain high customer satisfaction.\nInvestigate the root causes of service failures, providing solutions and ensuring they are not repeated.\nStrategic Contribution:\nContribute to the development and execution of the company's strategic goals and objectives.\nDrive initiatives for continuous improvement in transportation practices, focusing on cost reduction and service enhancement.\nManage and support a team of drivers and logistics personnel, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.\nBuild and maintain strong working relationships with team members, customers and partners.\nLiaise with the Fleet Manager and Compliance Director on vehicle or HR requirements and support needs.Requirements:\n\nProven experience in a similar role within the logistics or transport industry.\nStrong knowledge of transport regulations and compliance in the UK.\nA valid Transport Manager CPC is desirable but not essential.\nExceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.\nProficiency in transport management systems.\nOutstanding communication and organisational skills.\nAbility to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail. \n\nWhat We Offer:\n\nCompetitive salary\nA dynamic and supportive work environment.\nOpportunities for professional growth and development.\nThe chance to play a pivotal role in a growing organisation. \n\nWorking Hours: 9 hours per day with a one-hour break.\nBonuses: Performance-based bonuses are available.\nWeekend On-Call: Weekend on-call responsibilities will be required on occasion, shared with other team members, following a settling-in period within the business and will be at additional pay.
