Organises and manages a clinical caseload and provides day-to-day management for those with IBD and Gastroenterology diseases / conditions. Together with the IBD Clinical Nurse Specialist, the Advanced IBD Clinical Nurse Specialist and other team members, take responsibility for building a cohesive MDT. Communication and Relationship Skills To establish close liaison and communication with and between all disciplines involved in the care of patients with IBD and Gastroenterology diseases / conditions, and their families. Contributes to the organising of patient case MDTs where appropriate. Be highly motivated and committed to the role and demonstrate effective communication skills both within the organisation and externally where required. Communicates effectively to positively encourage and share good practice and ensure lessons are learned from incident reporting, significant events, patient and carer feedback, and staff feedback, and are shared and used to inform policy, guidance and best practice. Personal Development To maintain and develop knowledge and skills for the role of Gastroenterology CNS, ensuring an awareness of priorities and targets. To participate in the evaluation of their effectiveness through the appraisal process, identifying and acting upon development needs.
