Landscape Manager: Lead with Purpose and Integrity!

As a Landscape Manager, you will play a vital role in effectively managing the horticulture and gardening team on the King’s Cross Estate through day-to-day activities, ensuring that the requirements of the client are fully met for the enjoyment, recreation and safety of the site, colleagues, and visitors.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Ensuring the highest standard of a wide range of gardening services are delivered to expectation throughout the year. This will include but is not limited to: grass cutting, hedge cutting, shrub pruning, lawn renovations, formal planting.
* Provide knowledge and advice relating to all aspects of the garden including pruning, staking, feeding and spraying.
* Implementing good horticultural practices to enhance the landscape around King’s Cross.
* To carry out regular inspections and surveys to monitor maintenance work and identify and specify repairs.
* To manage the grounds maintenance contract to ensure value for money, H&S compliance and Service Level Agreements are being adhered to.
* Immediately report problems/failures that may impact on the organisation and/or its visitors, clients/customers to contracts manager and client.
* From time to time, you may be expected to be part of special projects as are required of your job role.
* You are responsible for your allocated workload and must meet all SLAs as agreed with your Line Manager, whilst providing weekly and monthly reports.
* Under exceptional circumstances you will be expected to organise attend out of hours work, i.e emergency tree call attend and arrange for contractor. Occasional out of hours meetings with stakeholders.
What we're looking for:
* Excellent working knowledge of H&S and able to carry out risk assessments.
* IOSH Managing Safely H&S qualification or the willingness to train to achieve.
* A highly self-motivated, energetic, and enthusiastic, with a hands-on, proactive can-do attitude, excellent time management skills and you must be willing and able to work and join in as part of the wider team.
* Experience of undertaking surveys, audits and producing reports.
* Proven experience of planning and reporting on a diverse range of maintenance and upkeep activity, including complex maintenance programmes.
* Ability to harness client and stakeholder relationships, representing the client on matters relating to the grounds and attending meetings regarding all matters.
* Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead on park capital projects.
* Experience of managing external contractors and Service Level Agreements in contracts.
* Ability to manage a budget effectively and the client’s biodiversity strategy.
* To be able to work in a dynamic environment and make quick decisions in line with policies.
