Job summary An exciting opportunity is available to join the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust Make Ready Department based at the Barry Emergency Services Station. Although mainly located at Barry, on occasions applicants will be expected to travel to, and work out of, the Make Ready Department located at the Pentwyn Ambulance Service Station. Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible for cleaning and decontaminating the interior and exterior of WAST Emergency Vehicles to a national standard and comply with national infection prevention control measures. The post holder will also be expected to undertake basic vehicle roadworthiness checks, safety/functional checks of onboard equipment (medical and non-medical) to ensure that WAST Emergency Vehicles are suitably stocked with equipment and consumables to meet the busy demands placed on the service. As there will also be a requirement for the post holder to move WAST Emergency Vehicles across Ambulance Service Stations, there will be a requirement for them to hold a C1 driving license with no more than three penalty points. The role will involve shift working including weekends and bank holidays. Applicants should have experience of working within a team environment to achieve deadlines, have an eye for detail and be customer focused. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. Selection will be via interview and driving assessment. If invited to interview, candidates will be required to bring a C1 driving license with photograph and obtain a code off the DVLA website for the driving license to be checked.
