A client of mine are looking for a Document Controller to join their team in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who either has document control / design / architecture experience, to work on a busy construction site in Birmingham. The company is very stable, with interesting projects coming up throughout Birmingham, this is a permanent opportunity for someone to grow with the business.
Responsibilities:
* Administer the Drawn / Drawing / Reports / Tracker information on the Document Management System and iDrive.
* Assist in preparing site instructions, RFI, Technical Submission trackers, and recording these issues.
* Provide support to the Buying and Procurement team with information packages for quantifying, tendering, and purchasing equipment for the site.
* Offer administrative support for site staff, including purchasing stationery and printing materials, and printing and distributing reports, minutes, and file notes.
* Ensure RAMS and Risk evaluations are completed by the Design Team and properly filed.
* Report any risks or slippages in information issuance against the programme and lack of coordination in drawings and specifications to the Design Manager.
* Assist the M&E Design Coordinator in coordinating and distributing M&E information on site.
* Issue information drawings and packages to subcontractors and consultants and maintain an issue register.
* Attend site and design team meetings to ensure required information is delivered and actively maintain the drawing and specification received register.
* Assist in preparing O&M’s and handover documents, ensuring record documents are received and filed for handover.
Requirements:
Essential:
* Experience within the construction industry as a Document Controller or similar role.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work autonomously.
* Professional honesty and integrity in dealings with colleagues, suppliers, and customers.
* Team player willing to adapt in a challenging environment.
* Strong time management and organizational skills.
* Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Desirable:
* Previous experience working closely with a Design Coordination team on site.
* Previous experience using Aconex.
