On behalf of DWP, we are looking for a Data Modeller for a 4 Month (Inside IR35) contract based Hybrid in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield.
The Service Modernisation North Star team require key digital roles to support the Future Design Operating Model work. The team are bringing how we deliver SMP benefits into a single business delivery model - align roles and processes across all benefits, make the process easier for users and improve digital channels. We require key digital roles to build and prove the data model concept.
A Data Modeller is required to work with the Data Architect and Solution Architect and developers to design databases that enables the organisation to access and utilise data more effectively. Ensuring the organisation’s data is organised correctly and optimized into an information system to help achieve SMP objectives.
As a Data Modeller, your main responsibilities will be to:
* Design and manage data systems that are architecturally sound enough to support our goals.
* Work with a Multi-Disciplinary Digital and Development Team to model critical data and information that will play an essential role in the organisation’s decision-making and users experiences processes.
* Segment and simplify large datasets to improve usability, optimise the data model for analytical purposes, and ensure seamless integration with the broader infrastructure.
* Lead and be responsible for understanding how core data is utilized.
* Ensure the data model integrates seamlessly with the broader infrastructure.
Essential:
* Extensive experience in big data modelling.
* Proficiency in database administration and development.
* Hands-on experience with data modelling tools such as ERWin, PowerDesigner and Visio etc.
* Experience with SQL.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Experience in software development with the ability to code and adapt to changing contexts.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a creative and solution-oriented mindset.
* Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to think abstractly.
* A quick learner with the ability to adapt and work independently or collaboratively within a team.
* Experience in modelling data for statistical analysis.
