We are looking for qualified level 3 Vehicle Mechanic’s with a passion for vehicle maintenance and a keen interest to develop their skills, in this role you will work as part of a high performing team of front-line Workshop staff, providing vehicle and plant maintenance to all services in Westmorland and Furness Council. This includes but is not limited to, Waste Services, Street Cleansing, Highways, Green Spaces, the in-house Transport team (CTOT) and Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service. Our workshops operate MOT testing facilities which cater for owned Fleet, Hired Fleet and external customer vehicles. You will support this delivery by undertaking the required training and provide an exceptional service. This is a fantastic opportunity to work and develop your skills across a range of modern, specialist vehicles incorporating the latest developments in vehicle technology. You will carry out servicing and inspection work to a large range of vehicles, enabling all the above services to continue to provide vital services to the people of Westmorland and Furness, this is a highly valued and varied role which gives real opportunity for career growth. All posts are salaried on a 37-hour week, however due however overtime is readily available plus we offer additional subsidies for standby duties.
