The Aeronautical Ground Lighting Engineer (AGL-E) reports to the Air Traffic and Aerodrome Services Manager (AT&ASM) and is responsible to the Airfield Engineer Aeronautical Ground Lighting (AE-AGL) for the efficient operation and maintenance of the Aeronautical Ground Lighting (AGL) equipment and other aerodrome electrical equipment under the Serco contract.
Main accountabilities:
1. Ensuring that planned preventive maintenance (PPM) of AGL and other relevant aerodrome systems are completed within regulatory, Serco and the Customer's requirements, as directed by the AE-AGL.
2. Undertake routine inspections of AGL in accordance with regulations and local requirements.
3. Ensuring continued compliance of the local AGL procedures and manuals with Serco Group Manuals for AGL and ICAO, CAA regulations.
4. Support Serco and the Customer with AGL related projects, in the absence of the AE-AGL.
5. Support Serco and the Customer as an AGL subject matter expert on day-to-day aerodrome operations and the continued compliance of the aerodrome, in the absence of the AE-AGL.
6. Attend relevant meetings as the AGL subject matter expert, in the absence of the AE-AGL.
7. Support the coordination and supervision of external AGL contractors, in accordance with Serco and customer procedures.
8. Support the AT&ASM & AE-AGL in ensuring required third-party support contracts are in place for AGL and other relevant aerodrome systems.
9. Support the SMASO and AE-AGL in the delivery of aerodrome works and supervision of contractors.
10. Completion of timely report writing, and effective recording and tracking of faults to completion.
11. Airside driving and work in airside areas.
12. Ensure safety, quality, environmental and regulatory requirements are met against internal and external standards.
What you'll need to do the role:
1. Qualified electrician.
2. City & Guilds 2365 or equivalent (legacy 2360 Part 2).
3. NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation.
4. City & Guilds Electrical BS7621 18th Edition.
5. Able to hold a medical to meet airside driving requirements.
6. Written and verbal communication skills.
7. Ability to attend training courses.
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Qualified AGL Technician.
2. AGL 1, AGL 2, AGL Technician.
3. Qualified AGL Authorised Person.
4. City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent.
5. Experience and good understanding of aviation regulatory environment (CAA).
Training can be provided.
