Job Summary:
Having been acquired by PE in mid-2024, we are seeking a meticulous and experienced Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations of our metal fabrication company located in Newhaven, East Sussex.
As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for guiding financial strategy, ensuring robust financial controls, and supporting the company's growth objectives through insightful analysis and reporting.
You will report directly to the Managing Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement financial policies and strategies to drive business performance.
- Manage day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and accounting.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, legislation, and industry standards.
- Lead financial planning processes, including cost analysis, profitability reviews, and risk management.
- Oversee payroll, procurement, and invoicing processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Collaborate with the production and operations teams to align financial goals with company objectives.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvements.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and banks to maintain strong external relationships.
- Manage day to day HR matters with assistance from external advisors where appropriate.
- Be responsible to managing the business’ IT platforms, specifically finance and MRP systems.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Professional qualifications like ACCA, CIMA, or ACA are highly desirable, but those qualified by experience will also be considered.
- Proven experience as a Finance Manager, preferably in the manufacturing or metal fabrication industry.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and tax compliance in the UK.
- Advanced proficiency in Xero and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical skills with an eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong leadership and communication abilities, with experience managing a team.
- Proactive and solution-oriented mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

We operate from a 50,000 sq ft facility in Newhaven, using modern equipment to ensure the best service for our partners.
