Are you passionate about horticulture and looking for an opportunity to showcase your skill in a leadership role? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Head Gardener to join our dynamic team and help maintain the beauty and functionality of the Sandringham Estate.
The Gardens at Sandringham House have been developed in turn by each Monarch since 1863 and now include extensive Water Gardens, a highly ornamental Woodland Walk, formal planting schemes, rockwork by James Pulham, an array of mature, ancient and rare trees, a newly planted Arboretum and an on-site Nursery.
This is a full-time position working predominantly Monday to Friday; however, due to the nature of the role, flexibility will be required as there will be some weekend working.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist in the management and maintenance of the gardens.
2. Supervise and train gardening staff.
3. Plan and implement planting schemes.
4. Ensure the health and safety of the garden environment.
5. Monitor and report on the condition of plants and landscapes.
Qualifications:
1. Experience in horticulture or a related field.
2. Strong leadership and communication skills.
3. Ability to work flexible hours.
4. Knowledge of plant care and garden maintenance.
